What Does Lele Stands For?
Lele Sweets was founded in 2024, inspired by Lahaina, Maui, a town with deep cultural roots and a rich history. In ancient times, Lahaina was known as Lele, and the name holds deep meaning. Lele not only refers to the town’s original name, but it also translates to "to fly" or "to soar" in Hawaiian, symbolizing the resilience and strength of Lahaina and its people. Although much of Maui’s banana bread fame comes from the Road to Hana, we honor Lahaina’s enduring spirit and the island’s cherished tradition of delicious banana bread. At Lele Sweets, we are committed to sharing a taste of Maui with the world by offering what we believe is the best banana bread you'll ever have. Each loaf is crafted with the flavors of Hawaii, carrying forward the aloha spirit. Join us in savoring a piece of Maui’s legacy.

Our story begins in Los Angeles, where I had the incredible opportunity to be part of a local cooking show called Community Cooking for over eight years. During that time, I explored farmers markets in Torrance, crafting the most delicious Hawaiian dishes that captured the island's vibrant flavors. My love for baking has always been a driving force in my life, and it became even more meaningful after the devastating fires in Lahaina, which took so much from the community I cherish. This loss inspired me to create Lele Sweets—not only to share the delightful banana bread I grew up loving but also to support the people of Lahaina as they rebuild. A portion of all sales will be donated to the Lahaina Strong Foundation, ensuring that our efforts contribute to the community's recovery. Each loaf is a heartfelt tribute to the island’s resilience and a way to spread a little aloha to everyone who enjoys our treats.
